Clearly Faded Summer Recap: Three Legendary Skateboarding Events Rocked Atlantic City
Atlantic City is on fire this summer—and Clearly Faded is proud to be at the center of it all. We just wrapped up three legendary events that brought the skateboarding community together in powerful, unforgettable ways. From high-energy contests and live performances to heartfelt tributes and East Coast legends, these were the moments that remind us why we do what we do.
Let’s break it down:
Roll for Rehm – June 21 @ BackSov Skatepark
Keywords: Anthony Reem memorial, Atlantic City skatepark, community skate event
This one hit home. Roll for Rehm was a heartfelt memorial event in honor of our brother Anthony Rehm, hosted at Back Sov Skatepark. The day was packed with emotion, love, and unity as family, friends, and skaters came together to celebrate his life—not with silence, but with skateboarding, filming, and joy.
The Clearly Faded crew showed up deep, with energy in the air and Rehm’s spirit felt in every trick. It was a moving tribute that showcased what skate culture in Atlantic City is really about: community, resilience, and legacy.
North To Shore Presents BackSov Bash – June 14 @ BackSov Skatepark
Keywords: Atlantic City skate contest, best trick, DJ Frequency, skateboarding music festival
The BackSov Bash went off. With $1,500 in cash prizes being handed out in non-stop best trick battles, this event was a pure explosion of skate, sound, and community.
We had Tom Asta and Nick Merlino on the judging panel, and DJ Frequency keeping the mic hot. Music from Gutter Drunk, JROTTII, JahBuzzin, and Johnny Seed pushed the energy even higher. Between the Clearly Faded ramps and the Artist Underground stage, it was a full-scale festival celebrating Atlantic City skateboarding, hip-hop culture, and underground art.
This one’s already being called a classic. Check out the full video edit on Youtube Here!
SOV Takeover – June 28 @ Sovereign Avenue Skatepark
Keywords: Atlantic City street skating, skate legends, Sovereign Avenue Skatepark
SOV Takeover turned up the heat. Some of the heaviest hitters in street skating pulled up to Sovereign Avenue Skatepark, including:
Ronnie Kessner
Brandon Westgate
Blake Carpenter
Tom Asta (Check his Youtube Video about the Event Here)
Mario McCoy
Shane Colville
Ish Cepeda
Neen Williams
Brian O’Dwyer
Joey Marrone
Stephen Carty
Jay Klotz
With a freshly built ledge cellar ready to break in, the session was pure mayhem. Trick-for-trick battles, product tosses, and non-stop clips created a next-level atmosphere. Shoutout to SadBoyz for keeping the crowd fed, and to everyone who kept the hype high from start to finish.
This was East Coast energy at its finest—reminding everyone that Atlantic City skateboarding is thriving.
Special Thanks to Thrasher Magazine
We want to send a massive thank you to Thrasher Magazine for covering the SOV Takeover and shining a national spotlight on what’s happening here in Atlantic City. Their official feature not only captured the raw energy and insane talent of the day—it also acknowledged the mission behind our nonprofit, SkateAC, and the community healing we’re building one ledge at a time.
For years, Atlantic City has been overlooked in the skate world. Seeing Thrasher showcase our park, our scene, and our movement means the world to us. We grew up reading that magazine, dreaming of moments like this. And now, with their help, the world is seeing that AC isn’t just a casino town—it’s a skate city with soul.
Also Huge Thanks to Shore Local News for covering the event as well.
