"You Were Clearly Faded": The Evolution of Clearly Faded
Founded in 2012 by Jason Klotz, Clearly Faded began as a skate and streetwear lifestyle brand that captures the essence of urban culture. Initially documenting the vibrant nightlife of Atlantic City, Jason engaged party-goers with the catchy phrase "You Were Clearly Faded" on business cards, leading them to a website where revelers could relive their wild nights through shared photos.
As the first t-shirt designs were released, Jason recognized the brand's potential to authentically represent the cannabis and skateboarding communities. Motivated to provide tangible pieces of Clearly Faded for fans, he created best-selling designs like 'Hello I Am', 'Faded Bull', and the iconic 'Eli Tag' logo.
At just 24 years old, Klotz realized that the brand's vision extended beyond nightlife. He shifted focus to social media, launching the official @clearlyfaded account on Instagram, where the brand quickly built an authentic presence, amassing over 12,000 followers.
Today, Clearly Faded stands proudly as a licensed cannabis brand in New York. We embrace our role in representing cannabis culture and skateboarding, showcasing a lifestyle filled with humor, community engagement, and social commentary.
We are dedicated to positively impacting the cannabis community through bold designs that address important issues, such as "Free the Weed Prisoners" and "Weed is Not a Crime." A portion of our proceeds supports our skate non-profit, SkateAC.org, promoting youth engagement in skateboarding.
Despite our serious advocacy, we remain true to our fun roots with designs like "It's Just Weed Stupid," highlighting the absurdity of criminalizing a natural plant.
